2019 - 2021
During my junior year in high school, I took on a job that some students would not consider. Taking over two classrooms of almost 30 students total can teach you very quickly about leadership and how people with different lives can work together or cause issues. My job included managing my staff members along with everything that goes into a working newsroom. I personally edited our monthly episode of Jaguar News Network which is posted on our YouTube page. I led my class along with a group of producers where we all collaborate on what can make our products better. Learning how to delegate as a leader was extremely important to learn. Under my leadership, my staff has earned 39 winning and finalist awards at the Mississippi Scholastic Press Association Spring Conference. Along with that, 4 of our staff members have been named All Mississippi At Large Honorees during my years as Network Director.
